Ireland
Here are just some random pictures from Ireland.
The day we drove around Dingle we didn't have any hotel reservations for the night. We thought we could just stop at a bed and breakfast and get a room. It was a romantic idea but not realistic. Everywhere that we stopped or called was booked. It finally got so late and we were so tired that we just found a dark, empty parking lot and slept in the car for the night. We actually slept pretty comfortable considering the size of the car. We must have been really tired.
This is the view from our hotel room in Dublin.
This is the outside of the bed and breakfast we stayed in in Cong. I am mad I didn't get any pictures of the view from our hotel room in Killarney. It was by far the best, but just look up images of the Lakes of Killarney and you will get an idea of what our view was.
This was a view while walking around Muckross Farms.
I'm not sure where this picture was taken but I love these green Irish hillsides. They remind me of a green patchwork quilt. By the way, green is my favorite color.
Every country we go to, we have to visit a McDonald's. I know some people think it is terrible to eat at McDonald's when you're in a foreign country but hey, just once doesn't hurt, and it was delicious and so worth it. By the way, this little drink is considered a large. I wonder what Europeans think of a large when they go to McDonald's in the U.S.
When we went to the horse show, there were contestants from the U.S. and other countries. I wondered how you would get your horse to Ireland if you lived in the U.S. We weren't really sure what the answer was but when we got to the Chicago airport, we found out. These big crates have horses in them. It is crazy to think that a horse can fly on an airplane. I can't even imagine how much that would cost. Like I said before, these horse people must have some cash.
